The short version:
I'm a librarian and writer. I grew up in Pennsylvania and, with the exception of a few short stays elsewhere, have lived here all my life. I earned a master’s degree in library science and when I'm not writing, I spend my days working in a university library. Like many librarians, I have a tendency to be overly helpful. So, if you have a question, feel free to contact me.
The longer version:
I’ve been writing since I was in elementary school. My early stories inevitably involved unicorns and a blonde princess named Katie, and I wrote them with great excitement. The excitement remains, although the blonde princesses and unicorns are few and far between now.
I wrote my first novel at age 16. I had no idea what I was doing, but I loved every minute of it. The protagonist remains one of my favorite characters, and he just might show up in another one of my stories some day. I have a few other novels and short stories in various stages of completion.
In 2011, I attended the Odyssey Writing Workshop. For anyone interested in writing fantasy, science fiction, or horror (collectively known as speculative fiction), I highly recommend taking the time to do this.
When I'm not writing and not being overly helpful as a librarian, I tend to read a lot and work towards my goal of having my two parakeets become the most spoiled birds on the planet. I'm steadily working towards this goal. They don't seem to mind a bit.
